The Estée Edit

My key tools for glowy, everyday makeup.

There is nothing more I love than glowy, natural looking skin that looks super effortless and healthy… especially in the mornings. I don’t like wearing full coverage everyday because A. I don’t want to spend that long on my face and B. I prefer light coverage and natural looking skin for everyday makeup. Which is why today’s post is dedicate to my two favourite Estée Lauder products that do amazing things for my skin.

In the shade, Cashew.

I’ve already spoken about the Nude Cushion Stick Foundation in my latest post, but I feel like I want to speak about it in more detail and cover some points I feel I missed in the previous post. I seriously cannot get over just how dewy this foundation makes my skin look. It’s a super light foundation and it has a very sheer coverage, so if you prefer something that’s more full coverage, matte and will just completely smooth your skin out, then you may not love this foundation. But, if like me you’re looking for a product that has a light formula and feels like you’re not even wearing anything then this foundation is the one.

The instructions on the back of the packaging recommend you apply and buff the foundation with the sponge applicator that comes on top of the foundation stick, but I’m not really crazy about it so that was a pass for me. I use the beauty blender when applying this (and pretty much any other) foundation for a more seamless finish and I just really like the way the application looks with this method. I apply just one layer of this foundation and my skin just looks like my skin but better. If I want a little more coverage I will go in with a couple more layers and because this foundation is so sheer, it doesn’t look heavy or cakey at all. As this is a pretty sheer/liquidy foundation, it isn’t super buildable as it is meant to be quite light and dewy, so if you guys prefer layering your foundation, you probably won’t be crazy about this. BUT, if you love something light and dewy, then honestly, this foundation is the bomb! I have to set my t-zone really well with this product (with a mattifying primer and some translucent setting powder) as I get quite oily during the day, so I just have to work a little to keep that shine at bay. You see what I did there? Oh yeah.

I also recently got my hands on the Estée Lauder Set + Refresh Perfecting Makeup Mist  and I really like it. The spray is super fine and it spreads so nicely across my face. The smell is really really nice and it instantly refreshes my makeup. I use this mist before makeup, after I have cleansed and moisturised my face for a subtle glow and hydration before I apply makeup. And then a few spritzes after I’ve done my makeup to set everything in place.

I also love using this mist even when I’m  not wearing makeup just for some quick hydration and a wake me up for the mornings, because the struggle is real. I prefer using light and hydrating mists to set + refresh my makeup so I absolutely love this product. It reminds me of the Smashbox Photo Finish Primer Water which I have used and adored, so I can tell this mist will be another fave of mine. For £20 this is a great buy and I would 100% recommend.

I hope you guys enjoyed reading my short post and found it somewhat informative. Please do share some of the products you have been loving! I’m always on the lookout for some amazing buys

Best Of Beauty: Foundations and Concealers

My absolute essentials when it comes to a flawless base.

One of the most important things for me when I’m doing my makeup is having a perfect base and it’s what I spend most of my time onexcept for brows, they can be pretty pesky sometimes. Today’s post will be all about my favourite base products that I use and find myself reaching for pretty much all the time.

Let’s kick things off with the NYX Total Control Foundation*. I recently bought this foundation and have only worn it a few times, but I am already in love, it’s so amazing. It’s a full on matte foundation and you get to choose how light/full you want the coverage which I think is really useful because you don’t always want the same coverage. I usually go for a medium coverage for everyday makeup which is about 3 layers with this foundation and if I want something sheer + lightweight with a skin like finish I would apply 2 layers; 4 layers or above would give me full coverage, but obviously everyone has different preferences so you would just have to experiment and see what works best for you. I have quite an oily t-zone which gets shinier throughout the day, but I seriously only had to touch up once in 10 hours whilst I was wearing this foundation. If you’re looking for a matte foundation with a choice of what sort of coverage you want + minimal touch ups then I would totally recommend this foundation, it’s definitely worth trying out.

When it comes to concealer I’m quite fussy because I want to use something that is long lasting and natural looking, which is why I have to mention the MAC Studio Finish Concealer Duo*. I was given this concealer as a birthday gift last year and I’m so happy I have this product in my life. This is a duo concealer set; the peachy shade is for colour correcting and the lighter shade is for concealing/highlighting. I don’t typically use this product to colour correct my dark circles as I don’t like layering products underneath my eyes because they tend to crease, but this concealer is the bomb. It’s lightweight, full coverage, long lasting and does not crease, that’s pretty much all you need in a concealer and in life.

This post would not be complete without mentioning my NARS Sheerglow Foundation* as it is an absolute fave of mine. This was my first high end foundation I bought; I specifically went to Selfridge’s in Birmingham for my birthday so I could buy this foundation and it was so worth it. This foundation feels so light on the skin as it’s quite a sheer formula yet it gives me the best coverage. Some foundations can leave my skin feeling quite dry after application but the NARS Sheerglow feels very hydrating and it doesn’t even feel like I’m wearing foundation, my skin seriously feels naked. I love using this foundation for events/parties because it gives my skin a really gorgeous glow which also photographs really well and it seriously lasts all day long. This is the foundation I reach for when I’m feeling medium to full coverage but I still want my skin to look and feel like skin. Even though I have got an oily t-zone, I still love using sheer/glowy foundations. Priming and setting correctly really does help tackle the issue, and it means I can use my faves without worrying about shine.

Okay, so pretty much everyone and their mum has tried the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer*, I mean it’s a cult classic and for a good reason, it is epic. This is a full coverage and super long lasting concealer and I honestly cannot do my makeup without it anymore, like what was I even doing before this? I don’t know. There are so many shades to choose from + to suit all skin tones which I think is awesome. I seriously only use the smallest amount as it blends really well and smoothes out the skin/covers up any pigmentation and darkness really well.

So I watched Tanya Cheban try the Estee Lauder Nude Cushion Stick Foundation* out in her makeup tutorial and I really liked how dewy and glowy it looked on her skin so I really just had to try it out for myself. I’ve used the Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation and I love that so I felt quite good about this foundation and I am not disappointed. The way this foundation makes my skin look, oh my god, it’s got me feeling some sort of way because gurrrl let me tell you, my skin just cannot look better with anything else. After application my skin looks so glowy and natural, literally just my skin but better and it wears so well throughout the day. It’s not a super long lasting foundation (the packaging says 8 hrs) but I think that’s because of how liquidy the formula is. If you prefer full coverage, super long lasting and matte looks then you probs won’t love this foundation, but, if you want something glowy and dewy with a satin finish and decent coverage then this is the foundation for you my friend. Oh and if you sign up on the Estee Lauder website, you’ll get a promotional offer of 15% off you first order off of everything and free delivery, don’t say I don’t look out for you guys.

Summer Beauty Essentials

summer beauty.JPGOmg hey you, how’ve you been? It’s been a while.

So I know I’ve been gone for what seems like forever, but now I’m back, like properly back. If you read my blog on the reg, which I’m hoping all you lovely lot do, or you follow me on my social media, you’ll know that I was in India for two months visiting my husband + getting roasted AF in the heat. LOL jokes I barely went out in the sun. If you’ve experienced 45+ heat for more than 2 weeks, you know the struggles. But anyway, now that we’ve got my welcome back out the way, let’s get onto the good stuff: my make up faves this season!

This post features some oldies but goodies, and newbies that I just cannot do without. Let’s start with an old favourite of mine. I’ve raved about the Givenchy Tint Couture Foundation in Elegant Gold in this post before and I just can’t stop talking about it. It’s a really buildable foundation so I can either go for a sheer, light finish or apply more layers if I want something more high coverage without it looking cakey. I also love the satin/dewy finish I get with this product. You know I’m here for it.

Speaking of foundations, I recently bought the NYX Total Control Drop Foundation in Beige and oh my god it’s the best thing ever. You’ve probably already seen this foundation everywhere already – all the blog posts and the youtube reviews – so I just want to throw my own little review out there. I really really like this foundation because of how buildable it is and I get to control the type of finish I want, duh total control. I’d seen that some people didn’t get along with this foundation as they didn’t find it high coverage/long lasting enough so I was slightly sceptical about using it, but I thought I’d give it fair chance and try it out myself, and boy am I glad that I did. I wore it for 10 hours the other day and I touched up once on my forehead, I mean that is insane. So for all my oily skin babes out there, this is the foundation for you.

A new season means new favourite lip products, of course. I’m a sucker for the perfect nude lippy so when I saw Tanya Cheban (one of my faves) use the most gorgrous peachy nude lipstick in her everyday makeup tutorial, I just knew I had to get my hands on it. The NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Stockholm is hands down one of my fave go to lip colours right now, it is unreal. It is such a beautiful peachy nude colour and so comfortable to wear on the lips, it honestly doesn’t feel like I’m wearing anything. I find some liquid lipsticks quite drying, but this one is more creamy so it doesn’t feel like you’ve got sandpaper for lips. I actually have quite a few NYX Lip Creams (Abu Dhabi + Cannes are two of my other faves) and I love them so much, there are so many gorgeous shades to choose from, and for £6, I’m here for it.

Another favourite lip product this season is my MAC Matte Lipstick in So Chaud, I am obsessed. This is a really stunning orange shade and perfectly compliments my warmer undertones. It’s not drying at all and it is so long lasting; I barely need to touch up when I’m wearing it. I absolutely love wearing this lipstick when I’m going for a simple yet bold look, so like minimal/no eye makeup and then a poppin’ orange lip will always be a winning look for me.

The Makeup Revolution Blush Palette in Hot Spice has become my fave go to blush palette this season and I am loving it. I bought this palette because I wanted some warm toned blushes that would suit my skin tone really well, and I’m glad to say this palette has delivered 100%. This is a peachy/coraly palette so the colours are pretty warm with two shimmery/highlight colours to add a lil’ extra something to your beat and you know I’m all about that. Plus the blushes are pretty pigmented so you get such a beaut colour pay off, and isn’t that just what we all want in life?

I absolutely cannot resist a warm toned bronzer and the MAC Bronzing Powder in Golden is a must have not only this season, but pretty much all year round. I really like having a nice and subtle golden glow so this bronzer is absolutely perfect for me. I love using it on its own for a natural finish or as base if I want something a bit more glam. I use this bronzer for pretty much all of my makeup looks because of the warmth it adds to my face and how seamlessly it blends in with the rest of my make up, ugh I love it.

I really hope you guys enjoyed my post back, I really missed talking about my fave beauty products and sharing them with you guys. Thanks so much for reading huns,

What’s In My April Makeup Bag

april makeup bag.JPG

Another month, another what’s in my makeup bag post. I have to say, these are probably my favourite posts to write.

Some bits are old faves, some bits are new. Because even though I say I won’t buy anymore new makeup, I know I’m just lying to myself. My spending ban lasted about ten days though, which is actually quite good for me.

I want to start off with my Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturiserwhich I have also raved about in this post. You guys know how much I love this moisturiser, it’s my absolute fave. I bought this moisturiser because it’s super lightweight and really hydrating. Some moisturisers tend to be quite thick and heavy, but this one is just perfect. I like having really smooth and radiant skin before I apply my makeup so this is the moisturiser I reach for every time.

What comes after moisturiser? My Clinique Peach SuperprimerThis is the primer that completely changed my makeup game for me. I didn’t really like using primer because I felt foundation just sat on top of the primer and didn’t really look natural on the skin. But I bought this primer because it also colour corrects any blemishes so I thought I’d give it a go. And I’m so glad I did. I have a pretty oily T-zone and this primer keeps my foundation from going shiny super quick. I don’t need to re touch my makeup for hours after application, and it smoothes my complexion really well as it has a peachy tone to it. I feel like primer is a very personal product, because depending on your skin type/what you want to achieve, you need to have the right primer that works best for you.

Whenever I want more of a dewy look, I add a few drops of the L’Oreal Extraordinary Facial Oil to my beauty blender when I’m applying my foundation. By a few drops, I mean two because that’s more than enough. I only add this oil to matte foundations and not glowy ones otherwise it’d be too much. I’ve also been loving my Givenchy Prisme Libre Pressed Powder quite a bit this month. It’s a very light loose powder, with the smallest amount of shimmer to it. What I love most about this powder is that I only use a small amount with my face brush and it has a very barely there look but you can see the difference. It really makes my complexion look more toned and luminous.

So as you already know how much I love my glow, I want to talk to you guys about how much I’ve been loving my L’oreal True Match Highlighter in Golden Glow, which I’ve also spoken about it in this post. It is 100% one of the best drugstore highlights you can get your hands on. I apply it with my damp beauty blender and it blends so well into the skin leaving a really nice natural glow. I like layering powder highlight on top for a really pigmented glow but it’s also great on its own. I love it.

How often do you buy products just because of how pretty they are. I’m super guilty of this, sorry not sorry. I bought the Makeup Revolution Renaissance Palette purely because it was too beaut not to. Don’t judge. All the colours in this palette are so pretty and I am super impressed by how pigmented they are. The palette is really cute and it’s perfect to use for basic + glam looks. The colours are really easy to work with and there isn’t much fall out at all.

I also bought the Makeup Revolution Ultra Eye Contour Palette because I’ve seen lots of people recommend it so I wanted to try it out for myself. I also really liked the basic colours in this palette, I can’t resist some nice browns and coppers. I don’t really think there needs to be so many light colours in one palette but there are a good range of earthy tones that I really like.

Have any of you tried the Too Faced Sketch Marker Liner? It’s so amazing. So many people ask me how I get my liner so perfect, and this pen is why. It’s a jet black liner and so easy to apply. This is my go to liner because it dries super fast and when it does, it will not budge (one of the reasons why I work in small steps). I’ve also been loving my L’Oréal Telescopic Mascara which I’ve spoken about before this post and it’s been my favourite mascara to use for the last few weeks now. It has a slim wand and the teeth are very fine so it makes my lashes look really defined and fluttery – almost Bambi like. It doesn’t really thicken my lashes but instead lengthens and separates them so they look fuller and not clumpy. Seriously loving this mascara, would 100% repurchase.

When I first used the Max Factor Universal Brow Styler I wasn’t sure if I liked it all that much because I was so used to my NYX Makeup Control Freak Eyebrow Gel. But having used it a few times since, I’ve actually been liking it for more softer and natural looks. I really like using this brow gel when I’m not wearing much makeup just to make my brows look polished. It doesn’t clump or dry in all the wrong places and it’s pretty affordable so you can’t go wrong.

Left: Forty-Eight Right: Forty

I love rocking a good nude/brown lip during Spring and these two Kate Lipsticks in Forty and Forty-Eight are my fave this season. I’ve had these lipsticks for a while but I’d stopped using them because I’d fallen in love with something else or I’d completely forgotten about them. I rediscovered them whilst reorganising my makeup and I’m crazy about them. They’re really hydrating lipsticks and super wearable for day and night. I’m absolutely in love with these lipsticks and I’m so happy I found them again. Pssst… they’re only £3.85 on ASOS – what are you waiting for?

What’s in your makeup bag this season? Any old favourites or maybe some new loves? Let me know in the comments below.

My Favourite Spring Essentials

spring .JPG

Ah, it’s the season of blossom and daffodils, longer evenings and best of all: warmer weather. Spring is finally here, and I couldn’t be more excited to put away my coats and whip out my new jackets.

A change of season means a change in my beauty/skincare routine. Not a massive change, just slight little adjustments that I feel are necessary. If you can call spending ££ on products-you-don’t-really-need-but-they-looked-pretty necessary. There are a lot of products that I love using (are you surprised), but there are a few essentials during Spring time that I just cannot live without.

avene + nars + brows.JPG

When the weather gets warmer, it’s 100% certain that I will be spending more time in the sun. This is especially true for this month as I will be going to India for three weeks, where temps can go up to 40 degrees. omg I know. So one thing I like to make sure I’m doing when I’m in the sun, is feeding my skin. That’s right, you gotta protect and hydrate your skin at all costs whenever you’re outdoors. Since using products made for sensitive skin, my skin has never felt or looked better. I started using the Avene Riche Moisturiser in Winter because of how gentle it is. But recently, I’ve started using the Avene UV Riche Moisturiser with SPF in it, and I am in love. This moisturiser is hypoallergenic and non comedogenic (which basically means it won’t clog your pores and make you break out, yay) so it’s perfect for sensitive skin.

When the weather starts getting warmer, I tend to reach for more lightweight products, and avoid wearing thick, high coverage makeup. However, I am not blessed with flawless skin but instead with dark circles and under eye bags, what a combo. If I get enough sleep, my dark circles aren’t very profound, but binge watching Netflix can sometimes take over sleep. That’s why I am always reaching for my NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer in Biscuit, because it does an amazing job of hiding those designer bags. Whenever I’m not feeling a full face of foundation, I just grab my NARS Concealer and I’m good to go. It’s a very nice + creamy product, so it’s super easy to blend with just your fingers. And it doesn’t budge, no creasing whatsoever, which I’ve also spoken about in this post.

Okay, so can we talk brows and how important they are? Who knew brow bars would excite me way more than actual bars? I’ve tried and tested a lot of brow products, but there have only been a few that have changed my brow game. The NYX Control Freak Brow Gel is the best brow gel I have ever used, and I have used many. This brow gel is like glue for my brows, they do not budge. Some gels I’ve used make my brows feel really hard and immovable, but this one by NYX is so lightweight. It’s definitely one of my best brow investments. If you can get your hands on one, I would 100% recommend that you do.

I love a good palette. No, really, I do. I don’t think you can have too many, and you always need that new one. I’ve spoken about the Sleek Solstice Palette in my Give Me The Glow post, and it is definitely one of my favourite go to palettes for the Spring. Three of the highlighters are powders + one is quite creamy (top left) so you can choose the type of finish you want. I love applying the powder highlights over the cream highlight for a nice + glossy finish. This is a great every day palette because of how lightweight the highlights are. It’s also super easy to use, I like using it with either my fingers on a damp beauty blender for a more pigmented look. Plus it’s so travel friendly.

I love a good blush palette, especially one with such beautiful colours. I bought the Makeup Revolution Blush Palette in Hot Spice recently and I’m already in love. The colours in this platte are quite warm, with peaches + amber, and they would complement warmer skin tones so beautifully. There are also two shimmery blush shades that I wouldn’t necessarily use on my cheeks, but maybe as a subtle highlight.

You guys already know, that I love a good glow right? Which is why I just have to mention my L’Oréal Lumi Magique PrimerIt is such an amazing product, that everyone should have in their makeup bag. It’s a really lightweight product which is why I love wearing it underneath my makeup as a primer. I also love wearing it as a highlighter, either mixed in with my foundation or on it’s own. And it’s a great product to use on those days you don’t want to wear any makeup, but you still want to have that natural wake up glow.

And there you have it, all my favourites for this season in one post. Hope you guys enjoyed catching up! Do you have any favourites this Spring?

Fresh Faced In Five Minutes

I think we can all agree that we all need a get ready fast strategy in our lives, just as much as we need an LBD. And this is especially true when you’ve decided on an impromptu dinner date, but you’re all cosied up in a dressing gown. Whenever I’m pressed for time, I rely on my trusty products to make me look like I’ve spent a whole tonne of effort on my face, when it’s really just taken me 5 minutes.
No matter how much I’m rushing, I will never skip priming and prepping my face, because the base is 100% the most important part of any makeup look. I start off with my Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturiser because it’s super hydrating, and makes my skin look really radiant. Whenever I have little time for makeup, I like going for a glowy look so, I like priming my skin with the Smashbox Water Primer, which makes my skin look nice and dewy.

Givenchy’s Teint Couture Foundation instantly makes my skin look airbrushed. I’ve raved about how amazing it is in this post, and how healthy it makes my skin look. This is definitely the perfect foundation to use on the go because it’s high coverage, it blends really well and it smoothes my skin out in seconds.

Concealer is definitely the best way to highlight underneath your eyes and get that fresh look in no time. The NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer is my favourite product to use to hide dark circles and lift my features. It’s super pigmented so I only use the smallest amount, and because it is so creamy, it blends really beautifully, which is just what you need when you’re rushing. The thing I love most about this concealer is that it does not crease. I cannot stress this enough. A lot of concealers I’ve used in the past tend to crease really quickly, but I’ve had no issues with this concealer.

I like to set my under eyes with my Soap And Glory Kickass Powder. I honestly don’t know how many of these I have bought. It’s one of the best powders I have ever used. There is no flashback, no white effect and it sets my makeup perfectly. It’s a really lightweight, translucent powder, and it has a yellow undertone to it, so it looks really natural. Truly kickass. I like to go for a dewy look, so I just swoop the same kick ass powder over my t-zone and most oily areas, and we’re set. Pun intended.

If you’ve read my everyday favourites post, then you’ll know how much I love my Freedom Pro Blush Palette. It’s the palette I have on hand whenever I am rushing. It’s got me covered for blush, highlight and bronzer. The bronzer in this palette is a really warm brown colour and I apply it to my cheekbones to just add some warmth to my face.

Whenever I’m going for a quick + natural look, I love going in extra with the highlighter. I like doing this even when I’m not rushing tbh. I use the pearly highlighter from the Pro Blush Plaette on my cupid’s bow, the bridge of my nose and my brow bone. My Mary-Lou Manizer Highlighter by TheBalm is my absolute favourite highlight of all time. I use it on the tops of my cheeks, and very slightly near my hairline. I always spray some of my Water Primer on my beauty blender and dab it over my highlight to get rid of any powderiness and make it look super glowy.

If I’m in a rush, I will skip the eyeshadow as I have quite pigmented eyelids, so it looks like I’ve got something on my eyes anyway. But I can’t have naked eyes so I use my L’Oreal Super Liner Perfect Slim to create a quick mini wing. Using pens for eyeliner speeds up the process x10, as they’re super easy to use.

I have definitely lost count of how many times I have bought the L’Oreal False Lash Sculpt Mascara, or even how many back upsI have in my makeup bag. This is definitely my ride or die mascara right now, and it’s the one I reach for whenever i’m in hurry. It coats my lashes so evenly, and make them look so fluttery without having to spend too much time on them.

To bring any look together, I use my Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz to neaten up my brows and add some definition to them. I have very fair brows, so a little brow work is completely necessary. I think brows are really easy to over do, especially when you’re rushing, which is why I always opt for my brow wiz – a perfect warm-toned brown shade that I can just flick through my brows with and make them look nice + groomed. How many times did I say brow in that sentence?

And the finishing touch to my natural makeup look is my No7 Lipstick in Deep Rust, which is a really nice burnt orange colour. This lipstick is very moisturising and really comfortable to wear. I sometimes like applying some MAC Velvet Teddy on top to get a really nice + matte coral shade, but only if I’m quick.

And I’m ready to go. It sounds like there is a lot to do, but that’s only because I’ve rambled on quite bit about my favourite products. What products do you use when you’re in a rush. Let me know down in the comments below.

5 Things On My April To Do List

Can you believe I have booked a holiday on a whim? No, nor can I. If you follow me on Twitter or Instagram, then you’ll know that I got married in December, which you can read all about in this post. My husband is still in India, which as you have probably guessed, is the main reason I am going. I’m super excited to go as I always visit India in December, so it’s always cold. I cannot wait for the warmer weather, but definitely not looking forward to the mosquitoes. Ouch. I’m only going for three weeks, but that doesn’t mean I will be packing lightly. I want to be prepared for the hot weather, which means new clothes (can you tell I’m excited by this?), as my wardrobe consists mainly of hoodies, jumpers and scarves right now. A trip (or five) to Boots will be essential for all my skincare and makeup bits. I love buying a new perfume from duty free, it’s one of my favourite things to do before going on holiday. This time I have my eye on the Viktor & Rolf Flowerbomb

As I am constantly buying makeup (surprise), it never occurs to me that I should probably organise my ever-growing collection. So, April is the month for organising, apparently, and I’ve decided to be productive. I’ve bought two clear, acrylic makeup organisers from Amazon so I can proudly display all the makeup I own, rather than chucking it deep into my makeup bag. I like using these organisers to store my blushers, single shadows and concealers because they’re small so I like keeping them all together. On top I keep my foundations, lipsticks and powders. Empty candle jars are a really good and inexpensive way to store brushes, liquid lipsticks, eye and lip pencils. I also love storing makeup pads and cotton buds in them as well. I also bought some acrylic stackable drawers for all my eyeshadow, blush and highlight palettes, because they’re a little larger and they need more storage space. There is a really good post by Thirteen Thoughts on how to store and organise makeup/skincare products.

I’ve been looking forward to decorating my new room for months, and I am super excited that the wait is nearly over. The whole room needed to be revamped completely. New wallpaper, new radiator, new carpet, new blinds – everything. I’m just waiting for my new bed to arrive, and then I can officially start decorating. There are already so many things on my bedroom wishlist which I cannot wait to start buying. As the wallpaper is blue with a grey pattern on it, I’ve gone for a grey carpet, and I bought the prettiest silver marble blinds that fit in so well with the room.

I love shopping. This isn’t shocking I know, but it’s 100% true. Whether it’s online shopping, sale shopping or holiday shopping, I love it all. I get such joy from buying something, and retail therapy does work. I went into ZARA the other day to just “browse” (do you guys tell yourself the same lie too?) and ended up buying a stunning suede jacket because “it chose me”. As more and more clothes “choose” me, and Summer is fast approaching, I thought it would be a good idea to organise my wardrobe, and the best way to do that? Have a clear out. I go through all my clothes and just get rid of everything I don’t wear/need. Just ask yourself, ‘do I really need that Edward Cullen top I bought in 2005?’

There are so many books I want to read and re read, but I just don’t have time. And even when I do have time, I aimlessly scroll through Instagram. Guilty. So this month I want to sit down and dedicate myself to some books I’ve been wanting to read for a while now. I don’t want to get into habit of not wanting to read because that would just be heartbreaking. Books give you the chance to jump into a different reality. It’s like a film in your mind. I absolutely love reading crime/thriller novels, you know the ones that just grip you from the first page. The first book on my list is Behind Closed Doors by B A ParisApparently if you really enjoyed The Girl On The Train, you will love this. I’ve also been recommended to read The Power by Naomi Alderman, a book about how teenage girls can inflict pain at the flick of a finger. Interesting. I’ve also seen people rave about Behind Her Eyes by Sarah Pinborough. The blurb reads: ‘don’t trust this book, don’t trust these people, don’t trust yourself. And whatever you do, don’t give away that ending…’ I think this is definitely the book I am most excited to read. April is going to be a good month.

As always, thanks so much for reading. What’s on your to do list this month? Any other book recommendations you have? Let me know down in the comments below.
